Attention Galveston Bay Boat Operators
Hurricane Season starts June 1st.
Now is the time to make safe refuge for your boat.
If you plan to utilize Moses Lake as a protected harbor for safe refuge, please be advised of the following:
The Moses Lake Tide Gate will be operated as designed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers to protect local citizens, businesses and industry. The gate will be closed when the tide reaches its lowest point before the storm and
WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL THE PASSAGE OF THE STORM.
Do not wait until the last minute to safe harbor your boat. Once closed, the gate will not be opened to let boats into the lake. Arrive early and plan to remain in Moses Lake until the tide falls after the storm.
Your cooperation is appreciated.
