Jack Roady was first elected Galveston County Criminal District Attorney in 2010, and was re-elected to a second four-year term in 2014.  Before that, Jack served as a trial and appellate prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston for ten years.  As Criminal District Attorney, Jack serves alongside a team of 41 assistant district attorneys, 6 peace officers, and 25 support staff, who together prosecute more than 10,000 misdemeanor and felony cases each year in Galveston County.
 
Jack has served on the board of directors for the Texas District & County Attorneys Association and is an appointed member of the Texas Criminal Justice Integrity Unit.  In 2016, he was named Prosecutor of the Year by the State Bar of Texas Criminal Justice Section. 
 
Jack also serves on the boards of directors for HIS Ministries, the Crisis Pregnancy and Support Center of Texas City, and the Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County.  He is a member of the Santa Fe Lions Club and the Galveston Rotary Club. 
 
Jack attended Texas A&M University at Galveston, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.
