Galveston County Mosquito Control has begun their late summer County-Wide larvicide project. They have two surveillance teams putting out larvicide pellets in the ditches and low-lying areas. Although the trucks sound like their regular spray trucks, they are not spraying out pesticide into the air. Each team consists of a driver and one employee who is shooting small pellets out of the window into ditches and low-lying areas. This is a pre-treatment for mosquito larva.
