Eddie M. Moore Arena

Rodeo Arena Maintenance is scheduled every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; Public riding is available after 2:00pm on those days unless an exclusive use permit has been issued or otherwise notated below. For other weekdays that we don't perform maintenance on or have a private event, the arena will be open after 7:30am. 

For holidays that fall on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, maintenance will be performed on the following business day until 1pm. *Please note that the arena may be closed and locked the day prior to an event.

Jack Brooks Covered Arena

After discussion with the Texas Animal Health Commission and out of an abundance of caution, Galveston County Parks Department has closed Jack Brooks Park Covered Arena through December 2, 2025 due to a serious Equine Virus (EHV-1), reported in Texas by the Texas Department of Agriculture. EHV-1 only impacts the equine population and poses no threat to humans.
