As, the Galveston County Parks & Cultural Services Department looks to the future, the Department has a clear focus on ensuring that all County parks offer the highest quality amenities, facilities, and park experiences.

The 2025 Galveston County Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan is intended to be the guidebook for the Galveston County Parks and Cultural Services Department as they navigate the next five to ten years in pursuit of parks and recreation excellence. Drawn from and embodying the needs, wants, and desires of the County’s diverse constituency, this plan aims to ensure that the County is well positioned not only to provide high quality parks and recreation opportunities, but to also provide vibrant natural, historical, and cultural experiences to all visitors.
