Our grant funded transportation program is offered at each of our three county community centers as part of the Senior Enrichment Program for seniors 60 years of age or older that meet the annual eligibility requirements. Funding for the Transportation Program is provided by the Houston-Galveston Area Council and Texas Health & Human Services. Every participant must complete an intake assessment annually. This is not a need-based program, and it is open to everyone that qualifies. This funding allows us to provide transport to and from our centers for recreational and enrichment activities planned as part of the Senior Enrichment Program. In addition, the bus does run errands from the centers for essential shopping as scheduled on each center’s activities calendar.

Our vehicles are complete with a wheelchair lift and curb to curb services. Our drivers can assist participants stepping on and off the curb, but those requiring assistance getting to and from the curb need to be accompanied by a companion to assist them. Home visits will be done by our drivers for those with wheelchairs or limited mobility to determine the safest method for transport.

Adventure is Ageless! Are you a Galveston County Organization or Group with senior citizens 55 years of age or older? If so, we can provide transportation services for your activities, social outings and next adventure through our Transportation Enrichment Program. A reservation fee reserves our 28-passenger bus complete with driver for your next trip.

Meet your Driver: Letitia has been a driver for Galveston County since 2014 and comes with over 20 years of commercial driving experience. Letitia has a passion for driving but most of all it's her love for seniors that keeps her striving to provide exceptional service.
